Sandy Springs is located in Northern Fulton County. Part of the city is located inside the Perimeter and borders Buckhead on its Southern border and Brookhaven on its Western Border. The remainder of the city limits are mostly West of GA400, including the new City Center area.

What’s Sandy Springs Like?

There are new construction communities as well as many established neighborhoods. Areas or neighborhoods of Sandy Springs are Downtown, Riverside, Panhandle, Perimeter Center, North Springs, Sandy Springs ITP, and Powers Ferry Landing.

While 40 percent of Perimeter Center, including Perimeter Mall is located in adjacent Dunwoody, most of the area’s office towers are in Sandy Springs. The area around Perimeter Center is a primary shopping and dining destination, but the new City Center (City Springs) as well as the Roswell Road business district have many retail centers and restaurants as well. The city has 16 parks with over 950 acres of greenspace. The Chattahoochee River is a major border of the city.

What’s going on In or Nearby Sandy Springs?

In 2019, construction of a new interchange between I-285 and GA400 began. It will be followed by toll lanes along GA400. While an initial mess with construction, the end results will make access into and out of Sandy Springs much easier. The creation of City Springs has created a new “downtown” for the city and features a performing arts center, City Hall, and living options such as The Aston, which has 275 flats and 19 townhome apartments. City Green is a four-acre park that hosts festivals and outdoor concerts, along with a splash pad interactive fountain for kids.

What Schools will the Kids Attend?

Where do Kids Go To School in Sandy Springs GAPublic schools are operated by the Fulton County School System. Elementary schools serving sections of Sandy Springs include Dunwoody Springs Charter Elementary School, Heards Ferry Elementary School, High Point Elementary School, Ison Springs Elementary School, Lake Forest Elementary School, Spalding Drive Charter Elementary School, and Woodland Charter Elementary School.[43] Two middle schools, Sandy Springs Middle School and Ridgeview Charter Middle School, and two high schools, North Springs Charter School of Arts and Sciences and Riverwood High School, are in and serve Sandy Springs.

There are also numerous private schools.
