The city really has two distinct areas….all of Brookhaven…and Buford Highway. It’s here that you will find the second major retail center after Town Brookhaven, Northeast Plaza, which has some 466,000 square feet of retail space. The Buford Highway corridor (2019) still has many aging apartment complexes and it a prime focus of the city to create a commercial district in this area. Additionally, the new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta campus is located in Brookhaven, on the east side of I-85 at North Druid Hills Road. But there is hardly a neighborhood in Brookhaven that has not seen the “tear down” effect.
